Why do you think that the software version you are reporting is for the DME? There are several ECUs on the R56 and each one has a software version of its own. Some ISTA-P updates affect some ECUs but not all.

The assembly number reported in ISTA/P (which is essentially the version) is a pure numerical value.

So is this update something I should pay for? My dealer quoted me $200 to do a "software update". Would an Alta AP be able to do the same thing for me?
