What is this warning icon?

I cannot find it in the manual. Help! It doesn't come on every time I start the car...just sometimes?

The Owner's manual says "Bulb of exterior lighting system failed". It's in the list of icons near the back of the manual.

Thanks! What year is your manual? I swear it's not in mine!

I guess that makes sense as I did notice I have a license plate light out (and I JUST had it at the dealer...which is 150 miles away!). But I had noticed the light bulb was out several days ago, and the warning light just stated coming on yesterday. Wonder why it's sporadic on coming on?

Yep just a bulb out warning. Simple diagnosis and fix.

Turn on all your lights including hazards and walk around until you see a burned out one. I always get this warning because of the light right above the passenger fog light keeps coming loosed and I have to go tap it for it to come back one (damn British cars)

Found it! My pages 140-141 were stuck together!

Still odd that it does not come on every time I start the car. Oh well!

Those lights aren't included in the warning system.

Got that with an out front fog light. Loose wire, fixed that the problem went away. Also got the text on the Nav system, or I'd have never figured it out. Nice system, they should advertise that more.

It might be a loose wire or loose bulb. Just walk around till you find it and hit a couple of time it will come back on.

Thank you

Thank you. I was looking at all the other external lights for weeks and didn't consider the license plate light, which was the culprit.

I would get that warning light prior to one of my headlight going out. I guess it's a pre-warning lights.

Mine too. There are two rear license plate bulbs on my 07 MCS - one bulb out, no warning. Both out, I got the warning.

Not sure if the side markers might be handled similarly.
