Bubye mini :'-(

I think I wrote off my mini on the weekend

It's a yellow, 2007, basic mini cooper with 55,000 km. I have full coverage (as I'm still making payments), anybody have an idea what the insurance company is going to assess it's worth at?

No, but since you're quoting KM instead of miles, either you're in Canada or Europe. Access your version of Kelly Blue Book or some other price guides to see what comparable cars are selling for and that will at least give you an idea.

The best information will come from your insurance company, but it doesn't hurt to be armed with some credible info from 3rd parties - internet forums would not fit this description IMHO.

Sorry about that. Glad you are OK.

I hope you have gap insurance to cover the difference between its value & what you owe.

Make sure you look it up in the books to see what it is worth AND check around and see what you would have to pay to actually buy the same car in your area.

My dad fought with the insurance company for weeks because what the book 'claimed' and what reality was (to replace it with the same condition car) for his car was significantly different. He got an extra $2,000 out of it, so it was worth the fight.

Options? (sunroof? sport pkg.? leather? auto or manual? premium pkg? nav?)

I'll look it up on the Canadian Black Book - let me know the above info.

Looking for a used car for my son this past Spring, I found that the Black Book values quoted were pretty accurate.

His previous car had been totalled (not his fault), the insurance company settled with him for more than the book value (and more than he had paid for the car), it was good to know the value before negotiating with them.
