Looking at a used 07 MCS tomorrow.

Hi all,my wife is wanting to trade in her 06 MCS convt. So tomorrow we are going to look at 2 07 MCS's,both manual.I like one of them a little more, but according to the carfax it had it's clutch replaced 1 month after brand new,and again at 21500 miles by the current dealer before they offered it for sale.It also had it's water pump replaced at 11k miles.Should I be leery of this car,or look at it as a brand new clutch and water pump?I don't know too much about the turbo cars,so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all.

I'd be leary of buying a car that had to have the clutch replaced twice in that time period. Makes me wonder if the original owner knew how to drive and what else could be lurking in the background.

I agree with that. Run away and don't look back.

The water pump isn't a big deal, but like others said, the clutch = RUN!

What ever you decide, have it inspected and make sure they do a compression test. The clutch could just be a bad stick driver, that wouldn't bother me much. Oh and don't trust a simple diagnostics check, my engine was screwed without a single warning light.

Well,we went to the dealer yesterday and looked at a couple of used MCS's and a new Cooper hardtop.Maybe I'm just **** about my cars, but both of the used one's were dinged up,rock chips, and curbed rims with bald tires. Our salesgirl was really nice and asked what I thought money wise.I said I won't bother because she won't like it.She no go ahead we need to start somewhere,I said OK,I want 1000 and yours for mine.(we have an 06 MCS convt, with leather)She said that can't happen because mine is worth 15000 and they are selling theirs for 19995.I said I know but mine is in showroom condition and yours is far from it.We did like the Cooper even though it wasn't an S, it still felt quick and nimble.I figure maybe I'll get rid of my car next year and get a hardtop for the wife and keep the convertible,I just wasn't going to dump the car for 15k to get out of it.Thanks for the help though I do appreciate it.
