Why do you need Spy Pics when the 2011 configurator is up?

I like theblack headlight housing, but I'd rather opt for the adaptive headlights instead since you can't order both. Drove another car last night with them and it's so much easier to see down a dark road when you're driving fast.

adaptive headlights is kinda a waste if you have xenon. xenon is very bright and lighten up greater viewing area that you don't need adaptive headlights.

Did a pre delivery inspection on the Spice Orange today. I really like the colour. Reminds a little bit of Copper Orange on Nissan Zs. I think it should sell well. Better than Hot Orange I think

You two obviously have not been behind the wheel of a vehicle with adaptive xenon. Why do you think BMW puts it into most of their vehicles if it's a "waste".

My brother's 330CI and mothers S4 have adaptive, they are amazing. They throw the light in the direction you're looking around bends. I want it on my 2011 MINI.

I have a bmw 550i and I don't see what's the big deal about adaptive. Yes, it does bend toward your direction but the xenon covers so much area, that adaptive is almost useless. They should just throw in adaptive when you order xenon like most bmw now. unfortunately for us, they don't and want to milk it. also, like other's said, y isn't available to the black housing. i rather sacrifice adaptive to have the black housing.

Do you live in the city or in the country? Without street lamps, you can definitely see the adaptive work their magic.

They should be standard + you should be able to get black. I don't understand that either!

Okay, for the usa, you get adaptive and end up paying extra $350 altogether since it forces you to buy auto wipers/lights. Not only that, you lose out on black headlamp housings. that's a bum deal.

Yeah, that is a bum deal.... its very weird because in Canada you cant buy a Cooper S without Xenons. But you cant get adaptive. I havent seen too many American Cooper S R56 so I dont know if that has changed, I assume no.
