R56 Headlight Washer Cover Install

Headlight Washer Cover Install
The cover on our passenger side fell off a bit ago. Once I bought a replacement, I couldn't quite see how to install it. It looked as if there should have been a screw to put it on but there wasnt.
I ended up using some 7min plastic epoxy; which didn't work. I lost the piece on the road.
Can someone give me a tip on how this install should really have gone the first time around?
We've got a 07MCS.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

You don't need any glue at all for it. I actually had my passenger side one fall off while I was pulling vinyl from it yesterday. What you do is there's a large "bump" on the top with two smaller ones on the bottom. Pop the hood, pull the washer thing out. It takes a bit of force and you'll feel it literally fighting you but you wont hurt it. However I only pulled mine out about two inches. Clip the piece with the large bump on top and then clip the bottom part second with one bump. There are two bumps on the bottom but I think only one pops in. Once you push it into place after the top has been secured it just pops into place. You'll know it when you have it. You definitely don't need any glue, duct tape, or string for this process. Good luck!

Reviving an old thread: my wife got her 2003 MCS slightly used, and it was missing the washer cover on one side. I have purchased a replacement. In our situation, it looks like there may be some damage to the parts that it should snap into: there's nothing that reaches out far enough to snap this washer cover into...so I may be stuck trying to glue it on. Is there any reason I would not want to glue it in place (other than the likelihood that it won't hold)?
Thanks,
David
Just noticed that this was in the second generation part of the forum. Oops...I'll assume there are some differences to the headlight trim structure.
