R56 The Official Ice Blue Owners Club

I purchased Brutus about a month ago and immediately started "youifying" him.
I had the dealer install black bonnet stripes and MINI lettering in black on the roof. I upgraded the side scuttle to a blue Union Jack and added a Mini laurel logo on the side. There was supposed to be a stripe, as well, but that didn't go over well! The wheels have been plastidipped black. I've driven over 2,300 miles thus far and have never averaged under 42mpg on a tank (calculated myself, not going by the OBC). A lot of people do a double take when they see this color and the car has received many compliments. It's such a great color.
I went to the dealer knowing exactly what I wanted except the color. When I stepped on the showroom floor, there it was! I drove it home shortly thereafter and have been loving it ever since.

Awesome car. I like the logo and blue scuttle. I don't have stripes just 17 " infinite spike but I do still love the blue as my favorite. I can say though I am doing good if I average 30 mpg. The sticker new said 29 so I figure I am right where I should be for mix city highway. Mine is a 2013

I think my next add on might be rims. The ones I have are fine but I'm thinking the 17" Black Star Bullet wheels would look better.
I almost got the orange scuttles and I think those would look good, too. I like the idea of the gulf orange stripes but I'll stick to the black ones I have for now.
That's the beauty of this color. There are so many ways to personalize the car and really highlight the ice blue color. I haven't seen another ice blue yet but I've had people ask me about the color including a couple that came up to me at Eagle Creek Park and said they liked the color and wanted to know what it was called so they could see about buying a MINI like it.

I love my Ice Blue MCS Cabrio. I also love pink. Adding a little pink as I go as my custom TX plates are also pink. Check out my new scuttles. Also, toying with the idea of pink mirror caps as seen in one photo (these are wrapped, so no commitment. I think if I go with pink it will be a lighter shade). Any suggestions for a side graphic that might have gray, black and pink?

LOVE those black wheels! I have a black roofed justa with that style "base model" rim currently in stock silver. I'll eventually get them powdercoated black once I wear out the tires. These 15 inchers are my winter wheels and starting next spring I'll put on a set of 16 inch "R94 Bridge Spokes" which I'm getting powdercoated gloss black.
BTW those 15 wheels are awesome in the snow.

I agonized over this for months before ordering my 'Justa. I wound up preferring black for contrast. So far I've also replaced most of my chrome trim (grille, headlight rings, tail light trim, boot handle) with black and next summer will be adding black wheels.

Beyond excited today. I had been told over the weekend I would not be able to order a 2014 r55 as Mini was no longer accepting orders. Figured this was a sales ploy to get me either to compromise for something on the lot already or get me "too anxious" to get just the right one. However, I later confirmed this with Mini 800 customer service. Spent a few days combing every Mini dealer website in the US, yes "every", looking for the minimum requirements of an Ice Blue manual transmission with a sunroof and Harmon Kardon upgrade (was even willing to settle for any manual IB with either a sunroof or HK upgrade). Came close on a couple but even had I located the stripped down version of my dream build, transport fees from one end of the country to the other are $1200+ (was not ready to pay that much for a compromise). So I was all ready for the big compromise (Pepper White or BRGR) when I got a call a few days later to say that the regional sales manager guaranteed he could push one through. So that's the story of how "Babydoll" became a (soon-to-be) reality.

Ice Blue 2012
Agreed! Have the ice blue with white hood stripes and white roof. Looks like the color has been discontinued. Kinda excited about that! ... until the times comes for me to get my next MINI.

"Ice Blue" everywhere / and a Nigel Blue update!
I love this color, even close approximations on other brands.
For instance, this Isis Blue TR-3 at the St. Louis European Auto Show recently:
Then: the other night, I noticed this Fiat in a TV ad, their "57th Anniversary" model celebrating the launch of the original 500 in 1957. It's a tinge darker than Ice Blue in this photo, haven't seen one in person yet:
And then, just an update of the look of my 2012 MCS, added Hella FF500's recently...
