E15 gas and your warranty.

Well i've been reading about the gov't mandated use of E15 gas and BMW/MINI not honoring our engine warranty for gas that uses anything higher than E10. I've even read about people who tested there local E10 and finding much higher mixtures. Now the question is, how can the Gov't mandate us use a gas that intentionally voids our warranties and how can BMW/MINI continue to sell cars that don't meet criteria here in the U.S.? Also any additional thoughts on the subject would be grateful, not only to me but for anyone else that is not fully aware of this situation....

Because the pumps have not been changed over and it is going to be awhile. So BMW/MINI can take their time.
