2011 MCS undertray

While installing the mud flaps this weekend I had the car up on a lift at the dealer I worked for. While it was up I noticed that there is no splash pan under the front of the car. I have never come across a modern car that did not have a splash pan.

Does Mini not install one or am I missing it? If Mini does not install one is there an aftermarket solution?

Not aware of one

I would actually say though the other direction--most cars I come across are an exception to the Audi's I have owned that do have splash pans. Contemoporary Toyota and Chrsyler minivans I owned didn't, Jag XJ 8 I got under didn't have one, etc.

The reasons they would be fit would typically be for either aerodynamics or noise control, or both. Honestly, neither of those seem that high on Mini's list; note they even deleted the under hood insulation some years ago. And indeed, that is standard on most any car I have owned for many years. At the margin obviously ways they pull some cost out too.

Haven't seen an aftermarket solution for Mini's. Having dealt w/ them for 15 years on Audi's, they are somewhat of a hassle for oil changes, oft broken fasteners at the wheel wells, etc.

Yeah I noticed the hood insulation also. RealOEM has a part number for that so I may pick that up.

There are two variants of underhood insulation when I looked for it

One is small and just covers area fairly close to scoop and turbo. Other is much larger and covers much of underhood. Tell me part # you are looking at and I can tell you which it is from paperwork I have.

Thrilled to find the post. Part of what I though was under tray had come undone and required me laying in snow to tighten with a screw driver. I realized there was no tray. Hoping/praying it hadn't come off I searched the forum and this thread defiantly lowered my blood pressure!

I wouldn't mind having one if someone finds one offered.
