I would like your input on my rear spoiler.

I just picked up a Cooper S rear spoiler. The one on the rear hatch that has to 2 vent openings in it. My MC is an 08 and Lightning Blue Metallic with a Blue top. This spoiler is black and in stunning condition. It looks brand new. It's a shame to repaint it blue and I liked my roof blue, I thought about painting it black, but really like the blue look. How bad would it look, to leave the spoiler black and the roof blue. I know what I should do, but how bad would that look in your opinions.

It would look like you put the spoiler from a black (roofed) car onto your blue car without painting it... That is to say, I wouldn't expect it to look very good. FWIW, I'm not a fan of the cars you see running around with unpainted body kits, either.

sorry to say, but I have to agree with grueinthebox . . . unless there is some other black trim on your MINI that you could try to coordinate the spoiler with, IMO the spoiler needs to match the roof. sorry.

I was feeling that way too, you know, just impatient. New question. Leave the roof blue and paint the spoiler, or leave the spoiler black and paint the roof?

sounds like you should paint the spoiler. Sounds like you liked your Blue/Blue and of course the cost is less to paint the spoiler. But either way would look nice at that point.

Thank you guys. Tomorrow, I'm bringing it to the bodyshop. It's the right decision. It just looks so nice right now. I'll upload pics when its done. I have the regular spoiler on the top of the hatch now. If anyone is interested in it, let me know. I'll throw it into the marketplace once everything is swapped.

I can't wait, its sitting on the floor in my kitchen, I have a set of R112 wheels with tires sitting in the garage waiting for spring, red caliper paint waiting to go on. I can't wait!

Ive - where'd you get the S spoiler? I've been thinking of doing the same, but the cost seems awfully high (I figure at least $500-600 from the dealer, with painting and maybe me putting it on myself). I wish I could find one at a junkyard.

I found mine on Ebay. The seller had 2 of them on at the time. I got mine for $129, and the other sold for $103. I was watching for months until I found this one. I will tell you, the condition of this one, is absolutely perfect. The paint is so good, it looks brand new. Keep watching daily, I just typed in Mini Cooper spoiler and kept watching. I want the JCW side skirts and I keep looking for them as well. No luck yet. Crazy expensive new.
