(nice) Pix of my new 2011 JCW.

Just picked it up a few days ago. Had ordered black rims but it came in silver. I'm feeling good about the mix up. Thinking I'm going to powder coat them gun metal. As soon as my JCW shifter gets to the dealer I'm getting that installed.

15% tints all around.

Next step...suspension/lowering.

As an autojournalist who's driven every car to hit the street. This is the only car to buy for less than six figures.

Hope you enjoy the pix!

-Gene

Thanks!!

I was very uncertain about the red roof but I'm so glad I got it. It looks far better in person than in photos and much better than the renderings on the miniusa site.

Wow. That is one of the best specs I have seen. Do you mind me asking what the MSRP was roughly?

Thanks!!

From the factory it was about $38,000.

Then between the wheel, aero kit and shifter I think another $4k or so.

However, rumor has it aero kit coming from the factory starting in March for much cheaper

Looks like Midnight Black with the Chili red roof is THE color combo for the 2011 JCW.

I do miss seeing pics of your old car that was vinyl wrapped in matte black. Now that was a great look.

Interested in getting rid of some of that chrome? Lyle from Vinyl Styles will be doing installs in my driveway the weekend of April 16th. I live over the TZ bridge near the Palisades mall. Got lots of other MINI modders on the list already including the guy that sold me my JCW. He has the same exact car as you. Come on by so we can see double.

But most of all drive it and enjoy it. Its a sweet car. I am still in love with mine.

I like it! Although it would look better without all that snow in the background. Good luck.

I finally saw a black/red JCW in person last weekend at the Buffalo auto show... still not sure how I feel about it. I LOVE that steering wheel though (drool).

Silver wheels look awesome on it also.

+1 one on the steering wheel. Anyone know if this steering wheel can be installed at the dealer in place of the stock?

Car looks sick! Congrats!

Its the JCW alcantara steering wheel. You can get it from the dealer and have them install it. Its expensive at $600 with installation. Check out your dealers accessory web site.

nice car!

have the front jcw emblem's positioning corrected by your dealer, it should be on the lower part of the grille.

Thanks!! I'm not too into the Joey mod. I've always thought the headlights and taillights of a car were beautiful and that something was lost when they were darkened. But to each their own.

Thanks man! It was a serious ***** getting the wrap off the car. Literally put in over 40 hours of removal time. I'm going to get rid of the beltline today with electrical tape. As for the rest I'm uncertain. However PM me your address, date and time. I'm always down for a drive to meet up with other enthusiastic Mini members. When I rolled with the vette I'd go for runs nearly every weekend. Would love to get involved in a local(ish) club.

I wasn't sure how I felt about it either. It's different seeing a car at a show under those lights and in a room that large than on the street. I was almost kicking myself about buying the red roof. Now I couldn't be happier than I have. It doesn't "pop" as much as you think it would on the street which is nice. I ordered black rims but it came in silver....at first I was pissed but I'm now very happy about it. Though I may powdercoat them a light gun medal.

I know this sounds silly...but it's well worth it. It's not just the alcantara but it's a thicker almost squeezable steering wheel, like that of an M3. Again sounds stupid...but that was my greatest anticipation with this car.

Yeah this is probably the only JCW they've ever sold. Can you direct me to an image showing exactly where it should be? I'll make the change myself. My dealer even put the steering wheel on crooked. I'm bringing it back to be fixed once my JCW shifter comes in for install.

Thank you everyone!

I'd be really curious to see how long the electrical tape lasts

I really like the stripes where you only see the red borders. Very cool. Beautiful MINI you've got there!

When I had my last Mini wrapped in matte black vinyl they used electrical tape on the belt line. While after 3 years, some of the vinyl wrap was suffering, the belt line was perfect.

I believe I've read on NAM about others doing it with the same. I was actually just about to do a search to find out exactly what size tape I need.

Gene, it should be 1/2" I believe. There's some other stuff called Prostripe, which you can get a 150' roll from Beacongraphics for $13. Pretty reasonable. I might try the electrical tape first (and be sure not to stretch it) and see how it looks. Good tip
