I looked at a lot of threads but don't see a definitive answer on this.

I have an 09 MCSa. When I unlock or open the door, there's a "whirring" sound that lasts for a couple of seconds. It's NOT the windows or the locks. It sounds like it might be the fuel system pressurizing or something similar. It only happens if the car has been sitting for awhile - - which makes me think it's something to do with repressurizing. Does anyone have the answer?? Thanks.

 

I hear little sounds from my CD player when I open the door. Maybe it's that?

The fuel pump is activated by unlocking the doors and will stop when up to pressure.

 

No, it's definitely coming from outside the car. I'll hear it when I unlock the car with the remote, before I even open the door--or the split second I open the door if it wasn't already locked. And like I said, only after the car has been sitting for awhile.

It's actually the same sound Lamborghini Gallardo makes before you start it up. I love it! :D
