Anybody using the Liquivac topside oil changer?

If so, how does it work for you?

I have a similar one from griots garage. It is my second suction extractor with the first one called topsider that worked for about 12 years. The current one is coming to about 6 years old already. It works fine extracting liquids as intended. I use it for oil and brake fluid (reservoir).

There is a lot of opinions about whether you should do an oil change with this. Just decide what is best for you. If you want to use it, it does work.

I won't use it, because it won't remove much of the contaminates and other stuff that might be laying on the bottom of the sump.

I have one (a Mityvac) that I use on the wifey's Volvo; works great. I haven't used it on my Mini because the dealer is still providing free oil changes. The 1st time I used it on the Volvo, I removed the drain plug after sucking out the oil and got less than an ounce of oil out. I'll use it on the Mini when the free oil changes run out.

Thanks for the input Dave. I ordered one from the distributer airpoweramerica and they have them cheaper than Amazon or Northern Tool. I went with a refurbished one for 30.00.

Not so fast! Are you sure you're not going to miss lying on your back on a cold garage floor while you fiddle with a reluctant drain plug? That's always been my favorite part of the experience.
