I have an android phone, not Iphone

I have it and like it. No iphone here either. Just make interacting with the car much better. The display is nice looking and easy to read. Our R57 is normal and with the top down it would be of less value. MY $0.02 worth.

Connected

It's the thing I love most about my new car. Tonight on the ride home I was listening to two of my favorite radio stations - one in Palermo, Italy (Radio Azzura), the other in Elkhart, Indiana (Froggy 102.7). In addition to Sirus and Pandora I am a kid in an audio candy store. The integration of the phone is neat, as are the other features of MINI Connected (although some, like Facebook, Twitter, and the MINIMALISM Analyzer are gimmicks). This is my 4th MINI and the Connected definitely makes it the coolest.

Hah, that's enough for me to make my decision! Thanks.

Should one go ahead and add the Nav if they are getting Mini Connected?

I just got it on my 11 and it's an amazing upgrade from my 07. Work a deal enough and get the connected +NAV for free like I did (off the lot of course)

I was told Connected is pretty useless without an iPhone. I trust the person who told me. You may want to try it before you buy it.

Hmm.. my main attraction to connected wasn't the Facebook/Twitter stuff but rather the LCD and being able to use that to browse the OBC along with the radio and other things. I like the idea of Pandora but figured that was an iPhone thing.

It is an iPhone thing. Connected without an iPhone gives you a nice screen, and a nice ipod interface. I got it in my MINI (hopefully get it next week!) and I got it without the nav as you can get much better navigation through a Garmin or TomTom.

Nooooooo. Get it with the NAV. Much cleaner dashboard. I have the Mini Connected w/out NAV. I'm an impulse buyer and couldn't wait; I bought the car off the lot.

doesn't connected without nav just not have an extra option in the on screen menu?

Correct. You just don't see a nav option. Other than that, they're the same system.

Trust me. You'll be much happier with nav from a garmin or similar device than a factory nav.

I agree with theunclesam, I use a Garmin GPS and have no regrets. I currently don't have either nav nor connected. When I ordered the car I just got the "visual boost radio" since I don't have an iPhone. When I do buy an iPhone I can have "connected" installed. Also I like the look of the speedo better with the screen. I don't regret it one bit!

I do the same thing with my Android phone I guess the convenience of having that in dash would be pretty cool though

just picked up my 2011 MCA last thursday and the Mini connect is one of the coolest aspects of the car !! I am in love with the new interface of the Mini connect and Navi... you can watch movies in your mini when your sitting just waiting in the car !! The other cool thing is how it tracks your driving and ranks you against other mini motorists using the application !! if you have the extra cash i def recommend it ...

When I look at Mini Connect app ( while not plugged in) Facebook shows more post I could choose from but when I plug it in I only get 4, how do I change or add the other pre set statements.
