100k+ Mile Club

I just placed the order for my new & first MINI (see sig for details). I am hoping to put alot of miles on her before swapping her out. I know that more posts than not on forums are about problems not high mileage praise...so why not have one thread to praise those that have gotten their R56 over the 100,000 mile mark?

Post 'em up 100k+'ers...maybe even the best 100k photo you have too!

MC/MCS/MCC/MCCS:
Manual/Auto Trans:
Tips for Living a Long Life: (i.e. what is/are your tip(s) for getting the most mileage out of your MINI...)

UPDATE: here is a blog posting at Motoring File that may be interesting to follow as well for R56 reliability

2nd gen folks would have to average 25k+/yr right? Or is my arithmetic off by a year...

Lots of folks out there over 100k with 2nd gens? Sound off you profligate motorists!

It's definitely doable. I just traded my saturn sky for a Mini and I racked up over 50K in the first 2 years I had the Sky. By the end of 3 years I was at 63K on it.

Like the OP, I'm also curious to hear about high mileage minis. From everything I've read there seem to be more complaints than good reviews so it'd be nice to hear some positive stories too.

I'm on a 25k/year pace, just about to hit 80k. So not there yet - another 10 months.

My dad used to put 100,000 a year on his cars. They weren't MINI's, they were Dodge Coronets. He got a new one every two years. He never did anything but change the oil in them.

I'm almost 70k miles on my '09. Give me another 8 months if it makes it. As for a photo, it still looks new... no dents or scratches yet. The interior is perfect.

That's awesome. How has it held up mechanically?

It's been reliable overall, though it had some of the normal stuff like 'cold start rattle', noisy clutch pedal, leaking axle seal, a/c vibration, etc. taken care of under warranty. Never has broke down and I'm still on the first clutch. I change the oil every 6k and rotate the tires... I let the dealer do all of the 100k maint plan stuff. Going to put another 1200 miles on it today and tomorrow.
