Mini cooper driving lights and JCW grill

Hi Guys,

I just recently bought the jcw front grill with the driving light brackets. I want to upgrade my front chrome grill (non S). I have factory driving lights installed as well. I know how to remove the grill, but not sure how to un-plug the driving lights. I followed the connectors, looks like one them snaps on and then slides into a plastic groove. I was to remove the snap cable, but dont know to slide it out.

Any help how to remove the connection would be great. Thanks.

thanks very much. I will give it a shot based on the diagram. I am able to remove cable "K" based on the diagram on Page 12. Where i'm having a hard time is removing the cable from socket "L".

Any idea how to remove L? It looks like it slides, but I can't make it to slide out...

theres a tab you must lift on this connector to get it to slide off. Mine was zip tied to the framwork which i just cut, it wasnt needed. You also may have to make it slide out under the frame work as i did

the wires to each light are just a simple two wire connection

b4 I got too hung up trying to undo this connection I'd probably just cut them off then solder and shrink tube or crimp connectors and shrink tube the connection.

....or open up the lights and disconnect there - as I recall they are just press on connectors to two simple tabs in the lights - small enuf to thread thru the grill or cut there and crimp on new connectors

Those are essentially one way connectors. They are meant to slide in, then lock in place with a small tab of metal. You can see the configuration on page 6, connector A6. The little tab near the top locks it in. You can sometimes disassemble this type with a jeweler's screwdriver coming from the pin side. Note that this method with often bend or break the tab, making reassembly difficult.
