Remus vs Alta vs Invidia exhaust

Im in the market for an exhaust. My main concern is performance over anything. But I also do not want an obnoxiously loud sound coming from my car every time I press on the peddle. But I do appreciate the Minis I see and hear that have those deep vrooomm sounds ... I have been reading a lot about these and now just need opinions ... Please I ask for any input regarding these exhausts or even ones not on her !!

I love my factory JCW exhaust, but it's definitely not loud. The Invidia Q300, in my opinion, has a really nice sound. BigPRFed posted a clip of his customized Q300 and it sounds mean and naaaasty! ThumperMCS also has some clips of his - also...naaaasty.

But if your main concern is performance, I'm not sure if you'll be that happy with any exhaust to be honest. Maybe spend the money on suspension mods for now and when the ECU remaps for the 2011's are hashed out then get that for more power.

Vic,
I hear ya, performance...without an obnoxious loud sound. Check out this thread. I went through 2 different exhausts before finally really liking the Remus I got. It is absolutely awesome!! Nice deep tones, NO drone, and really aggressive at WOT. I know Remus is really starting to promote to the MINI community now and funny thing is, they've been in business longer than most working very closely with BMW, Audi, Porsche and many others.

I encourage you to check out these threads, great sound clips!

I have the NM Engineering exhaust. Had I heard the Remus before I got the NM, I'm thinking I would have had a hard time deciding. I was going to look into the Remus to see if they could come up with something for my husband's Countryman. Father's Day is coming up quick!

I have the Alta turbo back exhaust and I have enjoyed it for the 2 years I've had it. It has a really good sound when you get on it, but isn't obnoxious or droning at every day driving and cruising on the interstate. The only issue is a CEL because of the high flow cat. Also, if you contact on of the guys on here from Alta they might be able to work out a good price. I'm not saying its the best exhaust but I've liked it. I don't really have any experience with the other exhausts though.

The Alta exhaust on the r55 clubman drones really bad. I cannot say with the R56 if it does or not.

I don't have any noticeable drone on the highway with my Alta exhaust. Only after 6 or 7 hours at constant highway speed do I even start to hear it I guess after it gets really hot.
