Has anyone installed the Porsche style door pulls?
Saw these and wondered if anyone had them yet.

I wish they would show them being used after the install. I'm confused as to how you open the door once they are installed. Especially considering the MINIs double pull thing.
I'd want the green with a black plate, but they don't have that for some reason. I may have to find someone who wants the blue or red with a silver plate and I can order the green and trade for the black plate.
Sounds very complicated, just my style.

Such door pulls came standard on the '93 911 (964) RS America (as well as some earlier 911s) as one of several weight-saving modifications to that limited edition model. Later I noticed the same door-pull mod showing up at after-market vendors, initially for about $250.
I owned a RS America and saw no meaningful weight-saving or door opening advantage in the door-pull, as the release mechanism within the door seemed the same. But if you want something just to be different ....

Looks like something my cousin would do to his 1979 Ford PU if he couldn't afford the real door handle. He currently has a piece of ratty plexiglass glued to his passenger side door because he doesn't want to spring for the glass. Oh, just remembered, he also has a piece of nylon paracord tied to the door lock because the **** broke off. He would absolutely L O V E this!

finally installed
Ok, so it took me a bit longer then I expected to get to installing these... guess the "major disassembly required" was holding me back a bit...
Once I finally got to it, it was pretty darn easy... as advertised
I did have to disassemble the door again after my first attempt, as I couldn't open it from the inside after first go round
But once I had gone thru the disassembly once I was able to fly thru it the other times.
Couple pointers:
1) Pulling off the door molding was harder then I expected, but once you give it just a little force it gets started.
2) When re-attaching the RS door pull to the pull cable inside the door, its really helpful to pull cable up between the door card and the door (as shown on the video) and test connecting it. Make sure it has tension and is springy when you pull on the nylon strap. This is where I failed on the first attempt and had to take the door apart again
All and all it was pretty painless and they look AMAZING.
I'll take some photos once I get Ninja cleaned up and have some good light.
This works just like the factory pull... pull once to unlock, pull again to open.
