I am wondering one thing if the dealership covered it whether or not it took 50 people for damage you created yourself, I think you dealership stood by you in the end and helped you out.
And I own a MINI S and yes my dealer also told me about a quart of oil every 1,000 miles due to being a turbo, I have been told this in other turbo vehicles myself MINI isn't the first.
DCHAP I really think you should rethink what you say because it sounds like they helped you out.

I’m glad you’re getting it fixed, I’m sorry you have to deal with BMW’s terrible customer service.

Having said that, why was a flare coming off and a possible horn a $500 repair???

A flare is like 70-80 bucks and if you had to replace a horn, it’s probably 40’ish bucks.

Was there more to it than that?

Sounds like a little much.

I love my mini but the customer service from the dealers and BMW themselves absolutely SUCKS!

Good luck.

There are a lot of aspects to the OP's story that don't make much sense. I'd discount accordingly.

Come on, driving through a puddle, really? OP, are you sure that Xanny the Nanny didn't take your car for an extended joy ride? Sounds to me like you killed it yourself. Zero cred.

I am 100% sure that all I did was drive through a puddle in the road. It was on a main road, there were numerous people driving on the road and through the puddle. It was just a puddle.

I was shocked when I saw that the fender arch had come unattached. Upon inspection at the dealership, the Service Tech said that it is common for the little plastic fasteners to break and cause the arch to come off. As for the water damage to the horn, I had noticed that the fender liner was coming unattached for a while, but nothing of any concern, just not fully in place. Maybe that had a factor in the extent of the damage? I don't know. But even still, the fender liner shouldn't be falling out on a 3 year old car either.

As of this point, I am waiting to talk with someone from BMW/MINI tomorrow to talk about my dissatisfaction with this car. I'm hoping he is compassionate and understanding, and enjoys his job with customer service. I want to know what BMW/MINI want to do to turn this broken relationship around. I was hoping to be a BMW owner for life, but I at this point don't want to give them any more money. My car has been nothing but trouble.

I do love the car when it is not broken....tons of smiles per gallon. But it is as reliable as an ice staying frozen on a hot day.
