Regrets... miss my MINI

I haven't been on here in awhile... I got my MINI in 2009 and was loving every minute of it... Regrets... miss my MINI-mini-003.jpg

Regrets... miss my MINI-mini-005.jpg

then my wife and I split up... got transferred with work... moved to another town.... etc... A year later in 07 2010, I had my first mid-life crisis and traded in my beloved MINI for this...Regrets... miss my MINI-20a5961b0a0a00020152e7a4393b108b.jpg

I love my new car, but it isn't anything like my MINI. Now, I see them everywhere. I wished I hadn't done it, but can't go back now... At the time, just had so many bad memories attached to it as my ex despised the car and everything started to come apart at the seams right after I got it.

I've decided that I will be getting another in the next year or so... I've already begun harassing Vince at Ralph Schomp MINI here in Littleton with about 10 different builds I've come up with so far...

So... I will return.. I will have a pimped out MINI... In the meantime, If you see a BMW Z4 Coupe (Batmobile) and it's flashing it's headlights at you, it's just me... pretending like I have a MINI again and flashing my lights at all Coopers I see coming down the road.

On the upside, you have great taste in automobiles

And maybe it was best to feng shui your life and start on a clean slate ?

What "builds" are you looking at ?

The one I'm building now is an all black Cooper S with Sport Package with 17 in silver Conicals, Cold Weather Package, Rear fog lamp, Cooper Aero package, and the black Xenon headlamps housing... Almost all black except for the wheels... Although, I'm also considering the Ice blue, horizon Blue, and Pepper White... I know I had Pepper white before, but I think I'll always like that color. Plus it saves me 500 bucks! After owning this black BMW, I can also say that it costs about twice as much a year in car washes! But when it's cleaned up, nothing looks sharper than a black car!

You'll be back and it will all be good. My '06 MCS was a Pepper White/Black and I absolutely loved every little thing about him. When I started my build for my '11 I decided El Kabong could not be replicated so I went Horizon Blue with blacked out wheels and lights, etc. I love the change.

PS, that Z4 is hot!

I think you're only regretting it because you didn't get a Z4M! I say just enjoy it and get your money's worth and wait for the next gen MINI if you must have another.

I would take the Z4 Coupe over the Mini all day long.

Me too. That's not exactly a Corolla you're driving there. The Gen3 cars will probably start ordering in about a year, maybe suffer with the Beemer and get a brand new issue then.

A straight Z4, no way. Z4M is where it's at. I miss mine so much

Not to be the correction police, but, a car built by BMW is a BIMMER, and a motorcycle built by BMW is a BEEMER.

Common but still hugely incorrect mistake.

I feel yourp ain. I was thrown out of my MINI lastJune when a woman sideswiped me on the highway and I ended up doing a double rollover. Nigel was totaled [murdered]. I had spent 3 years getting it "just right" wth mods [performance and cosmetic]. I decided to wait for the '12 Roadster to come out but had dilema, what to drive. I ended up buying a 2007 black on black loaded up Accord Coupe for 4K under value [due to miles] While not a MINI it is a good daily/highway driver and will prevent me from racking up the miles so quickly on the new MINI since I drive 110 miles a day in my commute. I like the Honda, it looks really sharp and it drives nice but I miss my MINI everyday. See my Thread "Death of Nigel" for some pictures.

I totally understand this. I bought a 2007 MINI Cooper S to be my daily driver (my weekend car was a Porsche Boxster S). Both were great, and the wife had an SUV so I had a car for Costco runs, trips with friends, etc. Six months later I get divorced and suddenly I have a MINI Cooper and a Boxster. Basically both 2 seaters. I traded the MINI for a Porsche Cayenne S and while I liked the Porsche a lot I missed the fun of the MINI.

Well finally I have a MINI again! I added a 2011 Cooper S to the collection and have been loving every minute of it!

Wait for the 3rd gen Mini Hatch to be released in 2014. Mini is alleging less maintenance with a similar and softer driving experience. They're also saying that their quality control has gone up, so you may be lucky and get a car that doesn't break down at the drop of a hat. That's just me though. If you can wait a few years, you can get yourself the latest and greatest with more reliability, and you won't have to worry every time you turn your car on. I plan to sell my car before the release of the 3rd gen so that I can pick one up new from the dealer.

Or you could wait and get the mini Mini JCW edition with promises a 1.5 liter 3 cylinder engine with 150 bhp. It looks pretty awesome to say the least. Just me though.
