AC Vents Drooping

Has anyone else had this problem? Two of my AC vents end up pointing to the floor 10 minutes after adjusting them. Is there a quick solution. I thought about sliding a dime in between the vent and outside vent wall.

Thanks in advanced AXO

I absolutely have that problem, of course the 2 vents are the driver side ones. I am going to go to the dealer one of these days and have them replace them. It is annoying!

How about sticking some little adhesive felt pads in there?

the first series of Miata (NA) was known for 'drooping ball vents' and the easiest fix was to apply some black electrical tape around the outside of the ball - this would provide a little more thickness and was invisible.

Roll the vent all the way down and put a strip at the top - roll all the way up and put a piece on the bottom . . . youcan even double up if necessary. Mine never got SO loose that there would have been enough room for some adhesive felt but if I DID need so much thickness I'd try it . . .

I put a 1/4" by 1" piece of black felt, with an adhesive backing, on the underside of my AC vents and it worked great. Took about 2 minutues, and they still move, but stay where they are supposed to. Fixed!
