anyone running roof racks with mini box?

Since this is our most fuel efficient car, we're thinking of using it for roadtrips in the future. Since I have to two young girls who fit comfortably in the back, we would only need to use the box to carry their double stroller and/or extra luggage. The rear would seem to be sufficient for a couple bags.

Any pics of this rig?

Quickly searching the net turned up several images of Clubmans with roof boxes:

No problem; after going a good 2-minute search, there's not many R56 with roof boxes.
Seems the R55 crowd likes to roll with more luggage...

I have that setup and love it. I put my dogs in the back and pack our gear in the roof box. The only down side to it is to make the box fit you have to remove your antenna or do what i did and buy a shorty one they look better any way.

Very cool! Glad someone had some shots. I currently have a Thule Ascent 1600 box but I think it maybe a little too big for the Mini. Might have to find something more in line with what you have? Which Thule box is that? Good tip on the antena!

The box is actually the factory Mini box I know it is made by Thule just not sure which one it is. It fits great but I have to move it forward a little more than I would like so the spoiler will not hit it when you have the hatch fully open. I like how it attaches to factor Mini bars. They have the T channels and the box just slides into those.

Oh thats good to know. It actually looks big enough to fit a lot of stuff. Would you say a double stroller could fit in there?

I'm not sure . I don't have any idea how large a double stroller is once it is folded down. If you want give me the dimensions and I can see if it would fit.

Folded Dimensions of 15"H x 29" W x 32" D

I just realized that my 77" ascent 1600 should still fit on top of the mini if I get a stubby antena. How long is the mini box?

The Mini box is 70" long. It does not look like your stroller will fit as it is only 12" tall. I would put the stroller in the back and the bags on the top of the car.

We re also expecting so I have a stroller question for you. Is yours one of those BOB jogging strollers? If yes what do you think of it are they worth the money?

Hahaha, I never imagined the day I would visit a car forum and start discussing baby stroller lol. It's all good tho since I guess we're all getting old.

We originally had the BOB Evo stroller and loved it. It was well built and easy to fold/unfold and transport. We eventually sold it and bought the Bumbleride Indie Twin when we had our second daughter. It too is very well built but less for jogging but more stylish and suited for urban adventures.

Btw, what are the dimensions of the mini box?

Oh, IMO the strollers are worth it. A little pricey, but then again we spend just as much, if not more, on goodies foe our cars.

I also have the Mini OEM roof box. Its been awesome! Anyone know how to go about using the Mini OEM roof box on standard Thule rails? We have a second car now with standard Thule square rails...I don't want to have to get a second roof box. The T-brackets on the Mini box don't work with the Thule system.
