R56 How much paint?

How much paint?
I know a few people have experience in this matter so I figured I would ask rather then estimate. How much base coat? and how much clear to repaint a R56. This is to repaint just the exterior panels without redoing the jams. I figured a two quarts of base (mixed = 1 gallon) would be way more then enough base, and I am getting a gallon kit from SPI that yields 2 gallons.
I am more concerned with the base quantity. The mini seems well, mini. The roof is black as well as the pillars, so not alot of surface.
Any feedback or experiences would be much appreciated!

I think one gallon of ready to spray will be more than enuf - you should have a good bit left over.
I had a gallon rts base to respray a Corolla and had a good quart left over after two coats. A gallon of clear plus activator should be plenty as well.
Where I bought paint when I was doing this regularly called this a 'kit' - one gallon of rts base, plus one gallon of clear and activator sufficient for the clear.

I am not changing color since I do not want to mess with the engine compartment nor the jams.
Im guessing since it was a kit it might have been TCP global?
Im with you guys on a gallon being enough for two solid coats, I will probably epoxy all of the pannels and then sand them down to 1000 just before I spray so I will probably skip a wet on wet sealer. I always feel like with a sealer I will have way more orange peal then if I base over the top of a finely sanded, well adhered epoxy.
