2011 MCS NM engineering strut brace compatibility issue

Hello,

I just installed a NM engineering strut brace on my 2011 MCS. The bar and mounts fit solidly, but the tube circled in red on my car is higher and routed differently so the bar rests on top and pushes down on it.

Seems any strut brace will have the same issue.

This tube goes from the engine top, then goes down to a bracket on the side of a hose clamp (intake air hose) and finally into the firewall on the driver's side.

Can anybody tell me what this tube is for, if there is any problem if it contacts the bar and if it is possible to retrofit the a tube form an earlier version that seems to be routed different?.

Many thanks,

H Amati

I knew it looked like a vacuum tube of some sort.

The question here is if it will be any trouble with it contacting the strut brace or if the connector is stressed by being pushed down by the bar. (other than the rubbing wearing a hole in it).

Many thanks

Should be ok as long as it is not stressed with too much +/- engine movement
