New Fix for Check Engine Light?

Mini novice here, but planning to buy a used 2011 Cooper hardtop very soon. There seems to be a lot of Check Engine Light problems with Minis. Have there been any recent Tech/Service bulletins issued to remedy the common problems? One tech told me that a recent SB calls for replacement of a faulty fuel tank vent valve. Does this sound familiar to you Mini veterans?
Thanks

Mainly yes; there's rarely been CELs where there hasn't been a proper fix from the dealer in terms of warranty / defective parts.

Yes, there's been some cases where the vent valve has failed; but replacement and fixes have been swift.

There is a sticky thread in the stock problems section with the service bulletins available.

You can subscribe to minitechinfo.com (a site published by BMW) for 24 hours for $30 to access the latest service bulletins and TIS service.

I can't believe I didn't find the typical Black electrical tape TROLL post in this thread!

Well, since you brought it up. Everybody knows about the use of electrical tape, there's no need to mention it. It is effective though.

From the voice of expensive experience, poor fuel shopping habits play a large part in CEL alerts.

Uh-Oh RS, if you're gonna swat a bear on the nose, make sure you've got an escape route. Re-check my signature then I'll meet you over where topless motoring is truely the funnest for a rematch in R52land. (And don't try to blame your finger for missing the correct key. That's just not fair to your finger.)

Really though, those 3 URLs should be in the favorites file of everybody driving a MINI. Especially the pure gas one for when you travel.
