Class Action Lawsuit?
Does anyone have any knowlege about the class action lawsuit regarding 2nd gen. MINI's which I have heard about? Or where I can be refered, to get more info, and to join the suit. I have a 2007 Cooper S, it just turned 30,500 miles. The timing belt just had to be replaced and it was 4 months out of warrenty. I've now talked to several MINI mechanics who have said that this is an ongoing plague of MINIs built after 2006. I have done all maintenance before it was even required and I do not drive the car hard. This hurts my heart because I love the MINI. Any help or info is appreciated.

Its actually a timing chain; that should aid in your search.
However, you may find it hard to locate such as there's been many other vehicles without trouble.
Timing chain and tenioner failure has been linked to low oil conditions and lack of frequent oil changes, which is responsibility of the owner.

Class Actions are a waste of time......the only people to benefit are the lawyers. I would wait to see the outcome of the class action then go to small claims. The max amount you can sue for is now $10K. If the class action is successful you can use that to prove your case. Plus they can't send in one of their lawyers just a company rep and all the money is yours.
