Mystery hose dripping...

Hey Gang,
Got a curious question. The last few mornings I have noticed a puddle of water under my car. Taste-test does not detect antifreeze or any other unpleasent tastes.
Got my 2007 MCS up on ramps and found the source to be an oblong tube protruding through the exhaust heat shields approx. 2 feet from the rear of the engine compartment (roughly in the center in the pic).
Any idea what this is for and should it be dripping?

Coolant overflow release I would guess. If you over fill, it blows excess out there.

My vote is for the AC condensation tube.

When it comes to automotive fluids, "taste tests" are a no-no.

Ehhh, a little bit won't hurt you... There isn't anything that's really poisonous.

Isn't there a drain tube for the sunroof guttering down there in that area?

If it's clear I'd agree with the A/C, if blueish I'd say coolant.
No taste so most likely A/C condensation.

I'd pull my car up on ramps and check it out except it's pouring outside. I have a metal carport but it's still wet.
Maybe tomorrow then I can try and trace the line.
Of course it's not cold enough to run the AC and I already had my thermostat replaced so I don't have coolant leaking or AC condensation.
Be interesting if someone figures out exactly what it is.

Where are you located?

Has it been over 40* there?

Do you have a sunroof?

Has it rained lately?

You can probably see it by opening the hood and looking at the passenger area, between the engine and the firewall. It's the a/c dripping for sure. The radiator overfill and reservoir are located towards the front of the engine on the driver's side.

If you operated the window defrost the AC would operate.

My vote is for the condenser drain tube as well. When it dries up outside drive around without AC or defrost and see if it is dripping anymore.
