First trip to service : (

Friday morning my 2012 Mini S wouldn't start. Accessories/lights turned on full power, starter kicked in, but the motor wouldn't get going. Check engine light on : ( The night before it was running just fine; the previous two days I had noticed a bit of a rough idle but attributed it to the cold. On shut down I also noticed the fan staying on quite a while (I had never noticed that before).

Anyway I should be totally covered under warranty, just a little worried about what could be wrong at this point (only 5,500 miles). The dealer didn't have any loaner cars available either, so I'm driving my '95 240 (which I love dearly, but it's lacking some creature comforts). When they call me on Monday I'll ask them again and pester them about getting me one (or from the BMW dealership that is owned by the same people). v_v,

PS: the next time a tow truck driver tells me "it just needs a jump..." /rage

Princeton Mini. The other dealerships are pretty far from my house.

Not to hijack, by Sly, which NJ dealer do you go to? I bought my MCS from Prestige. Loved the sales, not as crazy about the service though. Any recommendations?

In their defense, it has been a while since I've attempted service there, but when I first got the car I had strange vibration in the clutch, which they couldn't replicate just let go. Got worse and I decided to go to MINI of Manhattan where they found I had a warped flywheel and replaced the flywheel and clutch.

I'm sure this might have been a one-off occurrence and was a few years ago now, but between that memory and the long waits to actually schedule service, its just turned me off to their service department. Perhaps its not the same anymore and I should give it another shot.
