What's with the washer squirters?

Are the washer squirters supposed to be a hard solid stream? Mine are and it makes them kind of useless unless you are trying to de-ice. The washers on every other car I have owned sprayed in a fan pattern and worked much better. Are my squirters messed up? If it's normal then does anyone have a solution?

I was in traffic, moving about 15-20 MPH. after "squirting" the windshield, they popped out. The guy next to me said "dude, your car is crying" Hate the squirters

I was hoping that they would be able to be switched out or adjusted as well. I hate getting my door windows wet from the water from the squirters.

They are not necessarily there to clean your windshield, they are there to spray the H*** out of the POS behind you that finds your Boot a bit to distracting!!

That is what I expected to hear. What were they thinking? They don't clean anything. I work at an autoparts chain and we sell universal washer nozzles. Maybe I'll try taking mine off and see if I can swap them out. I will post my results for those interested.

Mine squirt a hard stream as well

... EXCEPT ...

when I'm doing 130-140km/hr then they produce a fan effect that is pretty efficient at covering the entire window. I guess they're designed for high speed motoring...

Let us know how you get on. I'd be interested in the result. I also have a problem with the supply lines freezing on cold, cold days. That really stinks. I think they freeze at the exit nozzle, because the rubber tubing actually sits over the hot engine. It's really inconvenient when your windscreen is covered in salt on the highway and you go to spray and all you hear is the pump running, but nothing comes out.
