noises from clutch

Ive had my mini for 2 weeks now, bought it used with 65k on it. Absolutely love it, but today when i was driving i noticed a strange noise when the vehicle is stopped and i release the clutch in neutral. its kinda a slight rattle noise and goes away when i push the clutch back in and only does it when its hot. could it be the duel mass fly wheel or the throwout bearing going bad? .... should i be worried its still under the 60 day warranty thru the place i bought it from. not sure what to do....

If you depress the clutch pedal to the firewall and the chatter goes away, that's typically a throw-out bearing failure.
When in doubt bring it back and see what the seller can do for you.

Hopefully you got it used from the dealer. Strange noises from the clutch should not be tolerated in this short period of time after purchase if you got it from a dealer.

Good luck with it.

I've noticed more issues with clutches on the 2nd gens. than the auto's.
At least in the NAM site.
Is it just me or is it due to previous owner clutch abuse.

Oh, my 07 MCS is auto and never an issue.

Aftermarket flywheels can make noise since they are basically a big cymbal. They ring at certain frequencies.
