Boost Gauge? Yes Please!

Hi all,

I'm the latest to have moved to using the KIWI OBDII Port terminal + Rev App to have a convenient and minimally invasive boost gauge. I simply velcroed the KIWI under the front dash. I'm using a KUDA mount (which I had professionally installed, it's a bear if you don't know what you're doing), which I think gives the perfect placement.

Overall, I'm extremely pleased. There is absolutely no lag on the gauge, and it's fun to see how much boost I'm making. When I get my AccessPort, it will be great to see the different levels of boost with the different tunes.

Can you send a link to the actual KIWI device you ordered? I have been thinking about doing this for a while.

No problem. Here it is - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...00_i00_details

It was amazingly easy to set up, and I'm shocked at how little lag there it. It's completely real time.

Considering how easy it is to remove the lower dash panel, and how much room is above it, I would velcro any add-on modules to the upper side of the panel, out of the way of my knees.

That's a great idea, except for the fact that I need to turn it off and on every time I use it (there's a little switch). If I didn't turn it off, it would keep running with the engine turned off, and kill my battery. Certainly the one major design flaw of the KIWI.

I have similar power drain issues with my OT-2 setup. No power switch, I just have to unplug it. The manual talks about sleep mode, but to trigger that I must disconnect the wifi connection, which isn't much better than unplugging the hardware.
