I needed to see this post!!!!
I bought a 2007 Mini Cooper S with 33,000 miles two days ago and it is in the shop right now.
Oil leak and vibration in the steering wheel on the highway as well as a pulsation when applying the brake.
All are hopefully easy fixes, though they have had the car for 3.5 hours now with no calls
I am hoping all is well and have meade an appointment Friday to bring the car to a Mini Dealer to have it checked out.

Did you not drive it in town and on hwy to test?
Did you have any other mechanic check it out before purchase?

I purchased it from a Honda Dealer right near where I work.
Drove the car but not on the highway, I was trying to do this during work and did not anticipate this, you would think at 54 and having had many cars and motorcycles I would know better!
They did a full check at the dealership but obviously not as thorough as I would have liked.
That is why I made an appointment for a Mini Dealer to check the car over this Friday while it is still under the 30 day warranty.
I did just call the Honda Dealer, they claim the oil is residue from the oil change they did, they must have spilled alot!! I will know if there is still a problem by looking at my garage floor.
They are balancing the wheels and the rotors need to be turned, I think that is the term.
I really like this car I am praying it is going to work out!!!!

At least you have a 30 day warranty. I'm 63 and still mess up occasionally when my emotions get the better of me.
I checked the heck out of mine when I bought it (non-Mini dealer). No problems until 6K down the road and then the thermostat leaked and timing chain issue. Not bad though, combined only hit me for $900 and since then no issues and it runs great.
First thing I did is changed the oil the 2nd day I took it over since I wasn't sure if they put full synthetic in it or not.
Now, it's every 6K oil changes.
Anyway, it'll pan out I'm sure.

They just did the oil change when I got it with Synthetic, at least that is what they put on the paper work.
Yes lust was a part of this purchase, been looking at Mini's for that past year and kept driving past this one on the way to work for 2 weeks.
It was either buy the car or invest in a drool cup lol.
I new that they would sort this issues out, I am more worried about some of the horror stories I have read on this forum
But if the car was all bad no one would be buying them.
Here is a picture of my baby!
