Laurel Sport Conv - anyone know this car?

Hi, been a long time lurker on this board. Recently came accros a 2010 Laurel Sport Conv for sale that I was hoping to get some advice on.

http://click.messages.autotrader.com...26148db262359c

It's for sale in Houston, TX. Price seems reasonable and with the remaining warranty I think we can get it sorted out. Does this car look correct? I was reading the the cars came with color matched wheel arches and this one has the black plastic. I'm still a neophyte when it comes to Mini so any tips are suggestions are much appreciated.

Some have color matched arches, some don't. Car looks great, and thankfully its a manual not automatic. I'd say go for it. There aren't many Laurel's around, if you've been wanting a MINI and you can pick up a Laurel, then sweet! Plus, as you said, with some 16k miles left on the warranty, you're in good shape. I'd say buy it, drive it hard, and get as much replaced under warranty as you can before 36k . That's just the way I treated the warranty though lol.

Well good news! Just got off the phone with the dealer and they're sending all the information we need to proceed with the sale. The car is actually for my wife, and she'll only drive a manual. I really lucked out with her.

So here's the plan. We're going to fly from South Carolina to Houston on the red-eye, pick up the car and make a Cannon Ball run back to SC. We'll stop in New Orleans for Saturday evening, grab a hotel and see some of the town. Then Sunday morning we'll make a break for home! Monday is our 5 year anniversary so this will be a fun, spontaneous trip for us.

So who has some suggestions for fun (legal) things to do while in New Orleans and a hotel?

It's your Anniversary, WHY bother with "legal" fun? Enjoy the town. There are some great spots to have beverages and definitely awesome restaurants in NOLA.
