MCS JCW 2007 / good deal ?

This past Friday my Mini Cooper was totaled by a deer .

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-with-you.html

I saw a 2007 MCS jcw works at a dealership . Same exact color as mine Chili Red Black roof . It has 46K miles . I test drove it , and wow it seems to be a real runner. They are asking $16.8K . It comes with 3 month , 2,000 mile power train warranty . Do you think this is a good price ?

Well, the factory JCW vehicles started in 2009+.
So, the "JCW" advertised tag is typically the dealer-installed John Cooper Works package (airbox, catback exhaust, badges).

Have you pulled comparisons from other vehicles in the area to see if the price is accurate?
Or have you checked with KBB.com or NADAGuides.com?

KBB is accurate as excellent and private seller , trade in to dealer would be 14k to 15.3k. So I guess it is a reasonable price for car in my area . Carfax shows clean, and all service done at a mini dealer. Had new brakes and tires installed 7K miles ago.

Dealers are currently giving action prices on trade ins right now. I would say 11-13k at the most. I just sold my LOADED 2008 MCS for 14,500 2 weeks ago with 70k on the speedometer. KBB was almost 20K at dealers. If that tell you anything, you should be able to get this at 15k. Also, like the other person, this is just a JCW tuning kit, not an actual JCW, the value of that kit is around $2100-2500 new, so it does not add tremendous value to the car. What else does it have in it?

I think this one has lots of options also, and 25K miles less than yours , so 14.5K still seems reasonable as a trade in price.
JCW pkg, Front fog lamps, Harmon Kardon 10 speaker Hi Fi , Dual Pane Panoramic Sunroof . Leather Interior . .Cruise Control . Not 100% sure if these are all options or came standard as an S .

Guess who got himself a MCs

Me ,

Bought it today . Called Mini dealer were serviced. Turns out this cars extended warranty is still good till Nov 23 2013. She tells me it is do for service now and it will be free. Original owner had it serviced every 6,000 miles. Got it for $15.7 K + tax and usual document and transfer fees. Having used car dealer remove bonnet stripes and they are going to service and detail before pickup tomorrow. Wow , how things can change in a week. Near Death Experience to Christmas morning.
