Water Pump and Thermostat Housing
Hello NAM
So a couple days ago my car radiator fan was running at max the whole time and scanguage reads 126C the whole time I was driving. I knew my Thermostat had some issue since it was throwing a CEL code P0599.
Went to MINI dealer and they said my water pump was leaking too and it would cost me $1300 to get everything fix. 500 for Thermostat + 650 Water Pump.
They are charging me 5.1 Hour of labour for the whole job.
I was just wondering if the Thermostat and Water Pump is located in 2 different area? Shouldn't the labour on Water pump overlap the labour on the Thermostat?
Can anyone help me?

As for the 5.1 hours of labor. they will probably get it done in about 2-2.5 if the tech knows what he is doing but they will charge the standard flat rate as it is a dealership
I did my thermostat housing in less than 2 hours and i had never done one before. I could change one now in about 45 mintues.
You may want to consider a private shop for this work. It will probably save you 30+%

Was it hard to change the thermostat housing? I was thinking about doing the same cause there is definitely a leak there after the recall for the aux pump. And i've had issue from dealer where they put screws in wrong places so i dont trust them anymore.
Totally correct.
