R56 Looking at a 20"
#26
I think it can look good with the right wheel and it's not sticking out or needs extra mods like lifting and such. I made this thread to see different wheels and ask how they like the ride, rubbing issues, suspension issues and how they handled it.
Will I go with a 20" wheel, idk... I'm just researching and curious. So far I've only seen 2 MCS's with that size and it's not horrible looking in my eyes but it's not a wow factor.
It's like that YouTube video of a mc with 22s, wasn't bad but the after effects and use and abuse! I couldn't do it.
It's like slamming a mc/MCS and having small wheels on it. You might mess up your camber, suspension and so on and it being so close to the ground you have your trans, gas tank and so on and if for some freak of nature you hit a wrong bump or a rock gets chipped just right in a horrible way. You could have some serious issues and don't let it rain and it's flooded.
With pretty much any mob "wheels, tires, suspension, engine work" you might run in to some issues but it's personal choice!! You say it looks horrible I think it could have potential of looking good. It doesn't help when some just toss things on there car and say, yea... That's cool or hot but you didn't take the time to figure out things and it's a mess. So people hate it, dislike it!
Anyways if anyone finds pics of mc/MCS with bigger wheels I like to see

If you decide to power launch your mini you will grenade those bishes(axles). Just go rent a set of 20s at one of those wheel renting places for a month and drive around and see if you like it or not. No point in buying them because they will be expensive. Also tires will rape you evra time.

Lol naaaa not my cup of tea!!! I think I'd rather go with the floored look then to do something horrible as a lifted suspension with 30s on my MCS!!! Or ride a skate board!
I've seen afew "star" like styles with the opened look that show off the breaks and calipers I like and if I don't find a 20" I like, they have 18s and 19s I can fall back on.

The axles got messed up in the time between the previous owner and me. The dealer said he drove it for a couple months before he listed it. I am in contact with the previous owner, and I believe he took very good care of the car, as do I.
I think the dealer drove the Hell out of it, because of the things I've had to replace and fix.
I think he hit one too many bumps or pot holes. The roads in Colorado are very bad, and unforgiving!
Personally I think 18" is about as big as anyone needs to go on a MINI. You have to modify some things to get those to fit most of the time, and going any bigger would mean big modifications. Unless you are only going to use wheels bigger than 18" at car shows or something. You're definately not going to do any AutoX with huge wheels! And I wouldn't think the MINI driving experience would exist any more.
But, like I said before, if you have the money, and that's what you want to do, do it!
Also, post pics, or it didn't happen!!

There have only ever been a handful of minis to run 20s, because there are so many downsides to such a large diameter.
18s or 19s look plenty big for 99% and avoid most all the problems of 20s.
If you want to be different thats great, but you are going to have to go out on a limb and take some risks.
And a pic of some big looking 18s

I like that look alot!!!
I figured this thread would cause some issues but it's more about a curious nature and what entails if I or another wanted to go down that route.
I said before, if I have to life my MCS to compensate for a larger wheel!!! It's a NO GO!!!
I want to keep things in perspective and keep my MCS sporty and good looking

18s require no modification.
18x7 18x8 are pretty straight forward, providing offset is somewhere between 30 and 40.
Popular tire sizes are 205/40/18 and 215/35/18
