Great alternative to Bentley Manual

Not sure if everyone knows about this so i will share. I've heard the bentley manuals aren't as detailed as everyone would like, but All Data is the online manuals repair shops use. They offer a DIY site that you can buy a subscription pretty reasonable.
I've been using It for years and its a great site with excellent instructions and info. After you get use to the layout of the site, its pretty easy to use.

http://www.alldatadiy.com/buy/

I was on it last night looking up something and thought i havent seen any reference to it on NAM. I know there are a ton of DIYers on here (me being one), so i hope this is helpful.

And no i dont work or have any affiliation with them. Just trying to pass on info.

I cant seem to find any thing for BMW or MINI listed on their site.

It asks me to select the year so I select 2008

then it asks me to select the make, and i can not find BMW or MINI in the listing. and it does not seem to show any thing for any year or model of BMW or MINI.

Or am i just missing something?

There is a disclaimer that BMW does not participate in AllData. Original poster must have been using it for some other vehicle.

Yeah, I use it for my Challenger but there is nothing for Mini's of any year on it. It's a good reference and has some information to do stuff, but the Bentley manual is so much more detailed and has so many more pictures to help out. I'd pick the Bentley over AllData any day -- wish my Challenger had a book like Bentley.

My mistake, i am using a shops login and just assumed it was on the DIY side too. Its extremely detailed on the shop side. Sucks that its not on the DIY side. Sorry

How much does the shop version cost (assuming the AllData Repair)?

Not sure if it is them same as the "shop" account, but my local library subscribes to alldata site and I used it before for other cars. Might be worth checking with your library to use it for free.

This is sweet! I talked with one of the sales guys after poking my nose around the site and started to fill out information and have a trial account to play around. That's a LOT of information (the DIY is so lacking in comparison). I wish I had $1400+ per year to spend on this.

I'll have to check out if our local library has anything like that. Thanks!
