doors unlocked, CD player whirring, spinning noise
I've done some searches and read oodles of threads on this.
My car - 2009
I've owned it ~3 weeks (give or take)
Every single time I have been into it after it's been sitting awhile, when opening the door, I hear the CD player buzzing. (it's empty)
(stop right there....it's not the fuel pump, it's not the steering wheel solenoid etc etc) I jumped into it yesterday and put my ear right against the CD player....yup, that was it for sure.
So last night I put a CD in the player. Voila! This morning (and this afternoon) when opening the car, no more stupid CD player buzzing noise.
Problem solved.
But WHY did it spin in the first place?
I thought it was odd....but when I bought the thing @ the dealership, they had an old CD in the player that the sales clerk just seemed to remember to remove just before I drove away. Odd.......makes sense now though, as I would've been asking about that freakin' noise.
Just sayin' !

No Nav, nope. Just a plain jane COOPER with few options. Definately the CD player, but problem has been solved by inserting a CD in it and leaving it in.
Seems like a strange thing, to design a car to buzz the CD player when there is NO CD in it. You'd almost think it would be the other way 'round

I have had my 2009 for over 3 years and have heard a strange whirring or buzzing or whatever for so long I now ignore it. I do have CD in the player, so I don't know whether it is whirring or not. Now I will have to take it out and put it back in to determine if you are in fact correct and have solved a mystery that has driven many of us to the brink of insanity.
Update: problem NOT solved. Mine still whirs. Even with a CD in the player. And it sounds like it is coming from rear of center.
