Hi, I have a 2010 Cooper S. What does this air duct connect to? The end inside the engine bay was just flopping around, unattached. I felt around and there's a port for it to connect to so I pushed it in, but there isn't any kind of positive connection. Is there a part missing? Photos attached. Thanks!

Yup that's the air inlet for the air filter.

 

If it's loose take off the top of intake torx screw if i recall.

Take the filter out, confirm that it's loose, if it is then pull the box up and twist the piping to lock on to the box. done and reverse everything. while your at it with the box expose turn the car on and give it a couple of revs and here the whooshh sound of the turbo. if you like it then it's time for a air intake kit hope this helps. make sure there's no dirt or dust around.

 

It's a twist lock onto the air intake box?

 

I believe so, i can't really remember. I got rid of my box months ago and did a custom air intake, 90 degree silicon elbow two clamps and a filter or air cleaner.
