Mini brused looking for help in a resonable body shop (NJ)
So over the weekend I put a quater sized gouge into the passangers side of the rear bumper cover. In addtion the rear tab that holds the bumper cover to the steel bumper is split and according to my local body shop forces replacment of the entire bumper cover at a cost of 1100.00 !!!!!
Looking for a body shop in NJ, PA, or delaware that is able to fix it at a lower cost.
Thanks in advance
Chris

Chris, Not sure where in NJ you are, but I've had great success with Luis Auto Body in Burlington, NJ. They've done work on 2 of my BMW's in the past and my Z3 is scheduled to go in next month to have the wing mirrors repainted.

Chris,
Sorry to hear about the damage to the car. I'm an auto claims guy, and I know there's another one on this board who will hopefully chime in. I don't have access to estimating software any more (we have a vendor do it), but in searching I'm seeing remanufactured bumper covers going for right around $300. If the shop is using a new one from MINI, I'd guess it's around $400. If the tab is torn, it could be fixed, I've seen it done many times. But a lot of times, on a newer or more expensive car, it's just replaced. If the cover truly does need to be replaced, you're still looking around $800 minimum. There are plenty of decent shops around. Where in NJ are you or what area is closest to you?

I am in burlington County near rt 70 & 206
As to the bumper cover they spec a new oem one @ 371.00 for the part and 108 for the lower black trim the rest is labor and paint.
Just seems silly to do a full replacment for one tab with a clean split.
