R56 Window Scraper Replacement?

Window Scraper Replacement?
I apologize if this has been asked. I did a search and couldn't find an answer. I have a 2008 Mini Cooper S with very few miles. On my drivers side door, the outside bottom window seal (scraper seal) on the door does not compress against the window towards the handle side of the door. It is wide by under a millimeter I would guess, you can't tell unless you take a close look. On the inside of the door the scraper seal looks a bit mangled towards the outside handle part of the door. I took off the interior door panel but don't see anywhere where an adjustment can be made. I have a few questions:
1. Is the outside seal a big enough deal to replace it? Even if I do it still might not compress against the window. Any ideas what to do? My understanding is that to replace this you just pry up the trim and there are no screws, etc. holding this down. My fear is that replacing this will not actually solve the problem.
2. Basically the same question as number one except that looking at the interior of the door with the panel taken off I still don't understand how I would take out the window trim (scraper seal) and replace it. There are a few star head screws on the interior of the door but which ones would I loosen? The last thing I want to do is cause the window to malfunction and have to make a visit to the dealer and drive up a repair cost.
3. Could it be that the door towards the back is not somehow tight enough, like something should be tightened down to make the door a bit more narrow (again, by maybe a millimeter or two)? I don't have a star screwdriver bit but I was able to take a flat head bit to try to assess the tightness of the star screws and they seemed tight.
Sorry for the long question. Thanks for all your help!
