EBC Ultimax Black Dash Slotted Rotors

It's getting close to replacing the rear brakes.....I'll put new rotors on as well and came across these EBC rotors with Redstuff pads....anyone have any experience with these?

I had some red stuff on my E55 with 2 piece Evosport rotors, pads seem to create hot spots. Very hard pads, very little to no dust.

I have the premium power slotted only rotors with Akebono Euro pads and after a few days around the gap this week I couldn't be happier. Very progressive bite with very little dust. My favorite combo on any car so far.

I ran that setup (EBC Redstuff and Ultimax Slotted Rotors) on a previous vehicle and was very happy with it. As 2HIP mentioned, they are harder (ceramic pads) that really don't dust. Take a little more pedal effort to stop when cold compared to stock, but that's to be expected with ceramics. Once they heat up a bit they are amazing. The Ultimax rotors are great. Never warped (even after track days at Monticello) and wore well. I'd definitely recommend them.

Thanks for the input guys.....think I'm gonna go in a slightly different direction. NM slotted/drilled with EBC Redstuff pads. NM is like 10 minutes from my house and willing to give me a great discount on a package.

Nm has some really good products and great service from what others on the board have said. I'm sure they will give you a great setup. Let us know your impressions and what kit you went with.

I would carefully consider w/ reviews or others w/ heavy usage/racing, seeing a lot of negative reviews on EBC. I have found Hawk to be excellent for both of my heavier vehicles (83 Camaro ESP class SCCA autocross (sold)) and 92 Grand Prix 4 cam. My MCS came w/ cross-drilled rotors but I suspect stock pads, which were grabby, made huge amounts of dust, and didnt modulate well. Replaced w/ ceramo-mets from Advance Auto, believe it or not, and they are great. Reasonable price, excellent bite, modulate well, quiet and super-low dust. Dont know about the heat from racing duty, haven't done that. Hawk and Akebono are prob good picks here as well.

I ended up ordering the EBC Redstuff per the recommendation from NM...obviously I decided on the NM Slotted/Drilled rotors as well. Should have them installed by the end of the month.

Installed!

New NM drilled/slotted rotors and EBC Redstuff pads are installed. So far, very impressed, smooth, quiet, and yes, they stop incredibly well!

Thanks for the advice and interest....

p.s. see my note on "Dropped Valve", that adventure happend on the way home from picking up the rotors from NM.
