215/45/18 Pics anyone?

I have been doing every available search for this fitment with an 18x7.5 wheel. I want a bit softer of a ride with a 215/45 but do not want to rub. I am running a +42 offset. Will I have any trouble with stock suspension(not lowered) and if I choose to lower it will I be able to without mods? Does anyone have pics of their 215/45/18 on? Thanks

Here is 215/40/18 on 18x8 with a +45 offset. I have zero rubbing. You should probably be okay with the 45.s on 7.5 width. I got rid of my run flats for these wheels and the ride quality got much better.

Did you try that size tire yet? It is awfully tall.

You can get away with 18's as long as you don't have coil overs. Coil overs AND 18's suck!

Honestly, I don't remember because I don't think I ever measured.

I'll see if I can find a pic with 18's and coil overs.

Here's one with 18's to give you an idea...

IMO, the best way to lower a mini is with NM engr'ing springs. It lowers the car the perfect amount, looks great, rides fantastic, does well at the track and can still be driven over speed bumps, driveways, etc, etc.

Thanks Orangecrush. I think that is what I was needing to hear. There's way too many posts on springs and I notice there is a slight variation between them all. Looks like the NM Springs just got promoted to the top of my Xmas list.

NMs and Yellows are going on my 08 MCS tomorrow. Wheels and tires are next. I would like to go with 18s but I'm fearful of rubbing and extra harsh ride. I guess I'm going to let the space left over determine which way to go - stick with 17s or go to 18s. I"ve been looking at 18X7.5 wheels with either a 43 or 45 offset choice. Still can't figure out which tire might be better, a 215/35 or 205/40. Neither provide a lot of choices it seems. Any input appreciated!

I'm running 18s and I'm about to get the H&R touring cup kit my tire size is 205/40/18. What do u guys think? The kit is a 1.4 drop all around..I measured my stock gap yesterday and I got 2.5 inches between the top of the tire and the bottom of the fender lip

No problem. I've used H&R springs before and though they look cool, I think the ride is too harsh and too low. My car was a daily driver and I still need to be able to drive over speed bumps and turn into steep driveways.

The NM springs honestly make the car look aesthetically correct, ride perfect on the street but worked great at the track. IMO, it was having your cake and eat it too.

The only reason I switched to BC coil overs and swift springs is because I was tracking the car so much.

I just ordered 18" wheels from NM and am running their lowering springs with the Koni FSD's on my stock 17's. The ride quality is very good, but I want 18's. All I am seeing are 205/40/18 for tire selection online. Is anyone running 215/40 or 225/40? Any issues with that size?
