R56 Hydraulic fluid leak between motor and transmission

For the second time in two weeks I have found a few drops of honey colored fluid on the garage floor. It's got an oily texture to it and water like consistency. When I found this yesterday I got the ramps out and got under the car. I see the fluid collecting on the bottom of the flywheel housing. It appears that the fluid is coming from between the motor and trans and running down to this point. I'm guessing that it's clutch fluid and I know it's not motor oil. I added some DOT4 to the brake/clutch reservoir. I thought the level was 1/2 between min and max, but being clear fluid, it may have been higher to start with, because it didn't take much at all. No issues with brakes or clutch, but I'd like to resolve the leak. Anyone know of common leak areas that this may be coming from. Top side seems so tight, I couldn't ID the source of the fluid.

I think you're talking about brake fluid. When you said "clutch fluid" I had a WTF moment there.

Are you sure that the bottom of the flywheel housing is the source of the leak? If it was the only source could be the clutch slave cylinder since the boot where it famously springs leaks is inside the bell housing of the transmission on the R56. You'd really have to pool up a ton of fluid in there to have it leak. It's not hard to remove it and check things out. Just a couple of 13mm nuts.

Are you sure you're not talking about the two halves of the transmission?

Yes, brake fluid - as shared with the clutch is what I meant. I do not think the
bottom of the flywheel housing is the source, I can see that it's running down to that point from above. I haven't rules out coolant at this point. I noticed last night that the overflow tank had pretty clear coolant in it, I would have expected a green fluid there. I'll get a couple pix tonight.
