R56 Cruise control dash light issue, maybe?

Cruise control dash light issue, maybe?
My cruise control dash light is super dim. Way more dim than any other light on the dash. I mean at least only half as bright.
All other green and orange dash symbols are much brighter, like the fog lights in image below.
Please not the cruise light is ON in the image below. Thoughts on this?
I also find my cruise button unreliable, it doesn't seem to turn on/off with every push. Or I have to push it really hard. Again, thoughts?

I was thinking not so much intentional as a design flaw. I'd love to know if someone knows different though. It bugs me a little too, but for me there are bigger problems for my dealership to tackle.

You may be right though. Design flaw probably.

This cannot be by design (the more dim light). It serves 0 purpose and makes no sense. Maybe a design flaw or just a common hiccup in '13's maybe. I'm stupid OCD though and it's driving me crazy lol

It can't be that, because everything is SMT components soldered on the circuit board (I know because I've taken a speedo apart). A dealer would only replace the entire speedo, not attempt to "fix" it. I'd suspect that either MINI spec'd a wrong component (LED or resistor) or else it was fabricated with a wrong or defective component.

If CC is off, a medium-length push on the button will turn it on. Likewise, if CC is on, a medium-length push on the button will turn it off.
If you have established a cruising speed, then a short tap on the "1/0" button will disengage the CC, but leave it turned on and remembering the set speed. The dim green light indicator stays on. To resume that speed, press the RES button.

It's normal. It's dimmer so that you don't notice it all that much at night, like any of the other lights, that should get your attention. Like, the HEY!,your fog lights are on. Or, the TMPS is on, or HEY! Did you know the DSC and DCT are disengaged!...
It's just a little OBTW, the cruise control is on.
The dealer will tell you it's normal vehicle operation and just slightly annoyed that you are wasting their time.

Okay... so I emailed my MA.. this was the response I got...
Blake,
Ok I did some research and talked to the service department and the cruise control indicator is indeed suppose to be dimmer. The reason being, MINI does not want drivers to think the cruise control indicator is a warning. I looked at two other MINI's and they are exactly the same as yours, so no worries! Have a great weekend!!

Actually, AFK a minute I'm going to go into the garage and turn the lights off and try it, see if there really is a difference.
<runs to garage></garage run>
Minuscule. Like BARELY a difference vs lights off and on.
Still, super stupid intended feature.
Honestly, the more I think about it, the angrier I get haha. I'm OCD enough that I will probably never use the cruise control feature in the MINI again due to this brightness difference.
