Recommendations as I approach 100k & warranty expiry
Bought my '07 hatch last year as a CPO with 80k miles. I've got about 2-1/2k miles left before my 100k warranty expires and I'm seeking advice on steps overall, with dealer and after that. Recent history:
- New motor 2 mos ago after failure (2 year unlimited miles warranty now)
- New radiator
Everything else has been standard maintenance. I've got a big family (5 kids) and am not sure if I should keep it at all once it's out of warranty.
The new motor and my love of working on cars gives me hope that it may still be a good family car for my oldest (15yo) to inherit, etc.
Thoughts? A last checkup at the dealership? Recommended maintenance steps after 100k? (I won't be returning to the dealership for work ... fo sho).
Thanks for anything (I'm in the Kansas City, USA area)

It is indeed a non-S.
I was told "we're not sure [what caused the engine failure], but it looks like someone opened the manifold and beat it severely with a hammer... metal shavings here and there, etc."
What led to it: I got a yellow temperature light as I sat in traffic, it went to red before I could get off the highway, and it started sputtering and dying at the first light I got to... then died. The only other symptom I had was it was eating oil like crazy prior to that.
Saw the price on the reman motor from France. So glad it was covered! ($5k+)
