Need a Tune in Minnesota

hello everyone.

I currently have an r56 08 cooper S and I want to do an ECU tune however, no one here in MN can do it. I have looked into sending the ECU out but the only place I know I can do this is NM and they won't get rid of any codes.

List of mods so far
NM CAI
NM Hot side boost
Helix FMIC
ATP turbo 3.0 no cat downpipe
3.0 no cat no resinators magnaflow exhaust

So any ideas anyone?

Before anyone says dealership.... They will do it for 2000. Be both know that's too much!

So does RMW have a tuning kit I can buy and have sent to Minnesota? I talked to Helix there in house only.

Evolve-R is your solution. I have a N14 powered R56 MINI like you, live in Detroit, and am nowhere near a local tuner. I love mine. No need to send out your ECU!

And yes, they can get rid of your downpipe related CELs unlike NM-engineering.

Sweet looks good. I see they have different levels too. I believe my mini is ready for stage three. Has anyone else used these guys? They didn't have any reviews. Is this a tune I can do or should I take it to a locale tune shop?

They're a global presence in the BMW community and have been breaking into the MINI scene for the past two years. They don't have an aggressive sales force in the U.S. being being based in the U.K. It's pretty hard to find anything negative about the work they do.

I've written a review on NAM and in my local MINI club you can see in the link in my signature, but it got buried with the AccessPort discussions that were dominate at the time.

They can do a custom tune for you remotely, you just need to plan the time at any dyno tuning facility with an internet connection. If you have more questions about remote tuning for a custom tune it's best to call them.

Thank you for the info. They look promising and I'm hating my dash telling me I have a freakin code.

I will agree that it is nice having the CEL come up for legitimate issues.

If you surf around the MINI Torque website (which is UK based) you can probably find a lot more first hand knowledge of Evolve.

I read your review. I liked what I read and what you did with your ride. This will most likely be my ECU of choice

My only question with this is do I need to go to a dyno shop to get this done or can I just do this from the comfort of my own home

I am running a Evolve tune on my Mini Cooper, works great. What you do is download your DME file with the Evolve-R cable and send it to Evolve. Once they receive your stock DME file they will modify it for the mods you have. They sent it back and you plug it in and your all set. If you were looking to have custom tune made you will contact Evolve and ask them about it.

You can do it right at home. One you get your tune file back from Evolve, it takes 5 minutes.

Normally how long does it take for them to send you to tune?

I don't have much to report yet, but I've placed an order with evolve.
FMIC, catless downpipe, catback exhaust and a tune, hopefully will ship
first part of this week. I'm going to dyno my car first to have a base line.
Pretty excited!

About a week. They take the base calibration map from your car, tweak the maps from that file, and then send it back to you. They don't just send you some generic file. It's not a long wait in hindsight when comparing the waiting period from when I first ordered my MINI. My oh my that was fun

This tune compared to that of the NM tune. Anyone know the big differences?
