I have an R57S with Leatherette seats. Wanting to upgrade, I called a wrecking yard looking for Leather front seats and he said the part numbers are different for the R56S vs the R57S.

1. Was he correct?
2. What are the part numbers for each (say the Black Lounge Leather)?
3. Are the front seats interchangeable?


Also, is $250/seat fair?

From what I was told when my seat recliner broke and I was looking for a replacement, all seats are interchangeable, same rails and bolts. But the plugs that connect the electricals (heated seats, airbag and sensor, etc.) vary in shape.

So you'd have to figure out each wire and splice them together, or ignore them and live with the airbag light that comes on.

 

Both replies are appreciated and helpful. I was going to check Realoem but you have to check each individual part rather than the whole seat. However, now I can focus on the connectors

I'm considering the same swap: Did you ever come to any firm conclusions as to seat compatibility?

 

I never did the/seat swap, but I looked at a lit of parts Diagrams as couldn't find and differences
