bling can be a description of all strut bars, where as performance benefit may be a description of different applications.

-my best guess would be the actual material used to manufacture the bar

-you wouldn't gain any performance benefits if your bar flexes with the chassis

-i wonder how much R&D is put into strut bars to define its flex resistance vs. actual chassis flex (is that measured in ft/lbs?)

Gents, I'm not trying to debate the benefits of a strut brace or how it works, just relaying my experience with the JCW brace I have on my MINI. I haven't noticed any more squeaks/rattles as compared to before I put it on, but then again, I haven't tracked the car with it yet. Perhaps I'll change my mind after this year's track season in the NE and I can get an HPDE or two under my belt with the strut brace on. I think that if you look at the distance to the fire-wall and then distance bewteen struts, it is lesser than other cars and so you'll feel the benefit on other cars more-so than on the MINI. Still looks great under the hood though

That being said, what have your experiences with a strut brace been? I'd be interested to find out if maybe I didn't have it torqued down properly since I'm not feeling much benefit.

 

Experiences with a strut brace. My GTSpec got notched by my Alta intake. Ummmm it has some oxidation on it that I need to clean off. Other then that it is whatever.
