Tune is the most gain, but more with mods. Hard to choose. Intake probably doesn't really do anything.

I forgot about the FMIC. If I had to choose a mod I consider REQUIRED, that'd be it. When I was tuning I saw 180* inake temps on a 65* day with the stock one. After I put on the Helix I could do the same kind of run and would peak at maybe 85-90* and then immediately cool back off to 10-20* above ambient. Waaaay better for the motor and power during DD in traffic etc. Doesn't add a bunch of power, but you are able to maintain levels much better.

yea i saw that with the DDMWorks intake you need a FMIC asap because do to the intake getting hot air from the scoop is not good lol but when its cold its just awesome lol

and dumb question but how would you know your intake temp?

Car has an intake temp sensor, just have to have something to monitor it with like the AP.

Spoke to one of the guys over at RK Autowerks, probably going to switch over to Evolve from the AP after MOTD.

Yea I explained the issues I was having and he seemed confident to say that its nothing they've seen before. And that it was probably related to the Alta tune.

I had the Alta AP as well. Currently it's uninstalled and laying around my apartment. I'm going to go the Evolve route as well after speaking somewhat extensively with countryboyshane on here. Now that CO is starting to show signs of summer I can justify tuning my mini again. I guess Mini Dynamics is coming out with a tuning device. Check that thread in the modifications section. I still am going with Evolve. So much postive feedback and the fact that it's more of a custom tune rather than a canned tune like the AP is very attractive to me. Not sure how much Evolve charges if any of us wanted an additional map, or to change/tweak an existing map from them.

All around great info folks!

Evolve told me they have some dealers here in the U.S. and I'm definitely looking at them hard if MINI dynamics doesn't produce a good product. RennTech was just way to expensive for a tune and BrenTuning was another good tuner too.
